Meeker Days Arts & Music is the largest street festival in Pierce County with attendances reaching 135,000 people during the three-day event. We strive for the best in entertainment, a variety of tasty food booths, and top notch artisans and vendors! We work very hard to create a profitable and enjoyable festival experience for all of our vendors.
The Festival management staff is implementing some important changes to our Food Vendor applicants for 2017:
Storm Drain Protection — Spill Kit
In order to be compliant with the City of Puyallup’s Stormwater Pollution Protection Plan, the Festival is requiring all food vendors to use or have a Spill Kit within their booth or truck. A Spill Kit consists of absorbant pads, socks, nitrile gloves and disposal bag to capture all grease and toxic wastes that could potentially spill into our storm drains. (The use of kitty litter will NOT be allowed). You can purchase a spill kit by following the link below or purchase one from the Puyallup Main Street Association. Any food vendor not using or supplying a spill kit and viewed disposing of any toxic waste water down designated storm water drains will be removed immediately, lose your right to return in the future and possibly face fines up to $5,000.
We have increased our application fee to $20. In order to submit an application for consideration this fee must be paid. It is non-refundable even if you are not chosen to participate.
PMSA Supplied Spill Kit
As mentioned above, Puyallup Main Street will offer Spill Kits to food vendors who do not provide them. Our spill kits are $75 each and you can order one on your application.
Over the years we have gotten lots of complaints and bad reviews regarding the costs of the food at Meeker Days. We have seen countless number of people eating Subway sandwiches in the park rather than food from our vendors. In our attempt to make everyone happy (yes we know, this is impossible!) we are instilling a rule that each vendor who serves meal-type food items (see application for definition) must provide one “Value” meal that is priced at $8 or under or a “Special of the Day” item for $5.00 and under. (Typically a value meal would be an entree, side and a drink).We feel that our food vendors will see an increase in sales by doing this.
For 2017, we are restructuring our booth fees in order to be more competitive with other festivals of our size. A lot of research of other festivals across the country has gone into this restructuring and it should be beneficial to both you as the vendor and the Main Street organization.
Fees for Food Vendors have been reduced to $50 per lineal foot. We will NOT be collecting a commission off of your sales. However we may ask to see your daily totals so we can monitor how booths are doing in sales. This is very important analytical information for the Festival. You are welcome to make a charitable donation to the Puyallup Main Street Association of any commission from your sales. As we are a 501 (c) 3 non-profit any donation you make is tax deductible.
Food Vendor Application
We offer two ways to apply for a booth space at the Meeker Days Arts & Music Festival. You can use our online form and pay with a credit card or download a copy of the form and mail in with a check. If using our online form you will only need to pay the $20 application fee initially. Once you are accepted you will be emailed an invoice with a link to paypal to pay your final booth fee.
A $50 late fee applies after April 14.
